What is a Robustel Industrial Router?
Robustel industrial routers are designed for environments where consumer-grade hardware isn't an option. Built to operate in temperature extremes, high-vibration settings, and locations with intermittent power, they carry wide-voltage DC inputs, industrial certifications, and ruggedised enclosures suited to DIN rail, wall mount or vehicle installation.
Unlike home or office routers, Robustel devices are built around dual SIM failover, hardware watchdog timers, and RobustOS — Robustel's own embedded Linux operating system developed and maintained in-house. The Pro variant, based on Debian 11, allows engineers to deploy custom applications, Docker containers, and third-party software directly on the gateway, removing the need for a separate edge computer in many use cases.
RCMS — Robustel's cloud management platform — is included free with every device. This is one of Robustel's clearest advantages over comparable hardware: competitors typically charge a monthly per-device or per-site fee for equivalent cloud monitoring and OTA update capability.
