The Poynting OMNI-785 is a small dual-band Wi-Fi antenna that screws directly onto a router, access point or modem with an RP-SMA Wi-Fi port. Use it to replace a lost or poor stock antenna, or to add Wi-Fi 6E coverage to a router in a cabinet, kiosk or vehicle.
It covers 2.4 GHz and 5 to 7.2 GHz with 4 dBi peak gain, works on older and current Wi-Fi standards up to Wi-Fi 6E, and needs no ground plane. The knuckle base swivels, so it can stand upright whichever way the router is mounted. Poynting rates it IP65 from −40 to +80 °C.
One antenna per Wi-Fi port: a 2×2 router such as the Teltonika RUTX50 takes two. If the router sits in a metal cabinet, an outdoor antenna on a cable will do better; see the OMNI-298.
