The Poynting MIMO-3 is the larger of Poynting’s two vehicle roof antennas, built for buses, coaches, trucks, utility and emergency vehicles, plant and inland or coastal boats. One IP69K housing carries the cellular, Wi-Fi and GPS elements a vehicle router needs, with more spacing between elements than the smaller MIMO-4. Where the roof has room, the MIMO-3 is the better performer.
Cellular elements cover 410–3800 MHz, which takes in every Irish 4G and 5G band including 3.6 GHz, plus the 410–470 MHz range used by private LTE networks. Gain is up to 5.8 dBi on the 2×2 models and 6.2 dBi on the 4×4 models. Wi-Fi elements cover 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz at up to 7 dBi. The active GPS/GLONASS element gives 21 dBi and works down to −40 °C. The housing is IK10 impact-rated and E-Mark approved for road vehicles.
Every element has its own 2 m cable with an SMA male connector, with RP-SMA adaptors for Wi-Fi ports. Mounting is by threaded spigot through the roof, adhesive surface pad or the optional MBK-1 magnet kit. Black and white versions are available on the -15 and -17.

Which model?
- MIMO-3-12: two cellular elements only. For 2×2 routers where Wi-Fi and GPS aren’t needed, such as the Advantech ICR-2734A02 or Robustel R1510.
- MIMO-3-13: two cellular elements plus GPS. For 2×2 fleet routers that need tracking without passenger Wi-Fi.
- MIMO-3-14: four cellular elements plus GPS. For 4×4 routers with their own Wi-Fi antennas, such as the Robustel R5020 Lite with GNSS.
- MIMO-3-15: two cellular, two Wi-Fi and GPS. Matches the Teltonika RUT956 port for port.
- MIMO-3-17: four cellular, two Wi-Fi and GPS. Matches the Teltonika RUTX50 and the Robustel R5030 and R5020 port for port, for bus, ambulance and utility vehicle routers.
