The ATEL Smart Lock combines a physical padlock with full IoT capability — LTE Cat-1 cellular, internal GPS, RFID-tag unlock, BLE, tamper detection, and a 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery — in a single IP67 device. The product replaces conventional padlocks where the customer needs visibility of where the lock is, who unlocked it, and when — auditing access without bolting extra hardware to the asset.

RFID access control with audit trail

The Smart Lock supports RFID-tag unlock — authorised personnel present a tag to the reader, the lock opens, and the event is reported (with location, timestamp, and tag identifier) to the A·TRACS platform. The unlock log provides a defensible audit trail for cargo, container, and asset-cage access. Tamper attempts trigger an immediate alert via cellular regardless of cellular coverage at the time of tampering (events queued and forwarded on reconnect).

Built-in GPS tracking

The integrated GPS receiver (TD1050) delivers location accuracy of 2.5 m CEP with optional AGPS support. The lock reports position on schedule, on movement (via 3-axis accelerometer), and on tamper or unlock events — giving full chain-of-custody visibility for high-value or regulated cargo.

BLE pairing for gateway and app use

The Smart Lock includes BLE for pairing with a mobile app (lock/unlock and status from a phone) and for gateway-mode operation. In gateway mode, the lock relays its data through a nearby BLE gateway (such as the ATEL AS33 with WiFi/BLE option, or other ATEL infrastructure) when cellular coverage is poor — extending coverage in container yards, warehouses, and dense urban environments.

Built for outdoor and yard environments

IP67-rated against dust and water ingress, with an operating temperature range from -20°C to +60°C, the Smart Lock holds up to cargo terminals, container yards, agricultural perimeters, and outdoor depot use. A buzzer alerts during tamper and unlock events. Five status LEDs (Cell, GPS, Battery, BLE, Lock) provide on-device diagnostics without requiring a phone.

10,000 mAh battery — long deployment intervals

A 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery (8.4V) supports extended operational windows between charges. Power consumption is tuned for low-frequency reporting in hibernation, with active modes for lock/unlock events. USB Type-C charging at 12V/4A (optional charger).

Configurable to your project

Reporting frequency, geo-fence behaviour, alert thresholds, and RFID tag whitelists are configurable per project. For project-specific requirements — custom server endpoints, bespoke reporting protocols, integration with existing access control systems, or non-standard event triggers — TITAN works directly with ATEL to spec custom firmware for your deployment.

Managed by A·TRACS or integrated direct

A·TRACS is ATEL’s enterprise cloud platform, offering device management, firmware-over-the-air (FOTA), geo-fence administration, RFID tag management, and unlock-event notifications via the A.RMS portal.
