ATEL AT70 IP67 Hardwired Vehicle & Fleet Tracker
The ATEL AT70 is an IP67-rated hardwired LTE Cat-M1/NB-IoT/GPRS vehicle and fleet tracker with ignition detection, starter inhibit, and an 8-pin I/O harness. Sealed against water and dust, it’s built for trailer body, motorcycle, agricultural, and outdoor vehicle installations. Request a quote from TITAN IoT Galway.
IP67 hardwired vehicle tracker for outdoor and exposed installations.
The ATEL AT70 is a hardwired LTE Cat-M1/NB-IoT/GPRS vehicle tracker with the same I/O capability and connectivity as the AT10, in an IP67-sealed housing. Built for projects requiring outdoor or weather-exposed installation — trailer chassis mounting, motorcycle and quad fleets, agricultural and construction equipment, marine vehicles, and any deployment where the device can’t be installed inside a cab or protected enclosure.
When to choose the AT70 over the AT10
Both devices share the same electronics, I/O, and SKU structure. The AT70’s IP67 enclosure is the only differentiator — and it’s the right choice when:
- The device is mounted on a trailer body, motorcycle, ATV, or open vehicle
- The installation location is exposed to weather, washdown, or splash
- The vehicle operates in agricultural, construction, marine, or industrial environments
- Long-term reliability matters more than the small cost increment
For interior cab or protected installations, the AT10 delivers the same functionality at lower cost.
Four SKU variants — match the project
The AT70 is available in four configurations:
- AT70-2 — LTE Cat-M1
- AT70-2U — LTE Cat-M1 with external UBLOX GPS for high-sensitivity applications
- AT70-5 — LTE Cat-M1 plus GPRS (2G) fallback
- AT70-5U — LTE Cat-M1 plus GPRS, with external UBLOX GPS
Dual-connectivity variants maintain coverage in regions where Cat-M1 rollout is incomplete.
Vehicle control I/O
The AT70’s 8-pin built-in flat cable supports two power lines, two UART channels (RX/TX), and four configurable I/O pins handling ignition detection, starter inhibit, and GPIO functions. The starter inhibit I/O uses a 500 mA sink-current relay driver for direct connection to a vehicle’s ignition relay — enabling remote vehicle disable for stolen vehicle recovery, finance default scenarios, or operational lockout. An optional internal buzzer can be specified for driver-warning applications.
Driver behaviour and event monitoring
The 3-axis accelerometer enables motion detection, harsh acceleration and braking events, speeding alerts, and impact detection — feeding directly into fleet management and insurance telematics use cases. Reports can be triggered periodically or in response to events including towing, battery removal, geo-fence violations, and harsh driving conditions. Up to 16 geo-fences (polygon or circle) trigger immediate notifications.
Continuous operation with backup
Wired to vehicle power (8V–36V), the AT70 delivers continuous tracking with over-voltage and over-current protection (resettable fuse). The internal Li-ion backup battery maintains operation for up to 4 hours after disconnection from main power — sufficient to detect and report towing events, battery tampering, or unauthorised power removal.
Configurable to your project
Pre-configured application software, an extended AT command set, and over-the-air firmware updates let the AT70 be tuned without specialist programming. For project-specific requirements — custom server endpoints, bespoke reporting protocols, or non-standard event triggers — TITAN works directly with ATEL to spec custom firmware for your deployment.
Managed by A·TRACS or integrated direct
A·TRACS is ATEL’s enterprise cloud platform, offering device management, firmware-over-the-air (FOTA), geo-fence administration, and event notifications via the A.RMS portal. Devices can report to A·TRACS, to your own platform via REST API, or to both — giving you a managed-cloud starting point with a clear path to direct integration as your deployment scales.
