SKU: RUT951 Category: Brand:

The Teltonika RUT951 is a dual-SIM industrial 4G router built around one job: staying connected. Two SIM slots with automatic switching, a wired WAN port that can act as primary or backup, and Wi-Fi that works as an access point or as another WAN source — so if one path fails, the site keeps running on another without anyone driving out to it.

It is the successor to the RUT950, one of the most widely deployed industrial routers ever built, and carries a faster processor for a more responsive interface and steadier throughput. Where the compact RUT241 suits a single device in a cabinet, the RUT951 is the choice when there are several wired devices to serve and downtime is expensive.

Where it’s used in Ireland

  • Business broadband failover — the wired line stays primary, and the router switches to cellular within seconds when it drops, so card payments and cloud systems keep working
  • Retail and branch sites — four Ethernet ports cover the till system, back-office PC, CCTV recorder and access control from one unit
  • Construction and temporary sites — full connectivity before any fixed line exists, with Wi-Fi for site staff
  • Remote and rural premises — dual SIM lets you run two different Irish operators, covering the gaps where one network is weak
  • Machine and plant cabinets — digital I/O for basic monitoring and control alongside the network connection

Why dual SIM matters here

Irish coverage varies more by location than by operator — a site where one network is unusable may be perfectly served by another, and the next town over reverses it. Two SIMs from different networks removes that gamble. RutOS switches automatically on weak signal, data limit reached, roaming, network denial or connection failure, and SIM idle protection keeps the standby card active so it works when it’s needed.

RutOS and remote management

The RUT951 runs RutOS, Teltonika’s OpenWrt-based operating system, with a full VPN suite including OpenVPN, IPsec and WireGuard, plus Modbus TCP, SNMP, MQTT and an extensive SMS control and alerting toolkit. It works with Teltonika RMS for remote monitoring, configuration and firmware updates — the difference between managing fifty sites from a desk and visiting each one.

Recommended antennas

The RUT951 uses 2 × SMA for cellular and 2 × RP-SMA for Wi-Fi. It ships with swivel antennas that are fine on a desk with decent signal; almost every real installation does better with an external antenna. Our usual pairings:

Choosing between the RUT9 models

All three share the same platform and RutOS features. The difference is what they connect to: the RUT241 is the compact single-SIM unit for one device in a small enclosure; the RUT951 adds the second SIM and four Ethernet ports for resilience and multiple wired devices; the RUT956 adds RS232, RS485 and GNSS for serial equipment and vehicles.

Supplied and configured from Galway

TITAN IoT stages every RUT951 before dispatch: SIMs fitted and tested on Irish networks, failover rules configured to your priorities, VPN and RMS enrolment applied, and the antenna matched to the site — so it works the day it’s installed.

The RUT951 sits in our industrial cellular routers range alongside the rest of the Teltonika line-up. Pricing is quoted per project — use REQUEST A QUOTE for Irish pricing, availability and the antenna recommendation for your site.
