Solutions · ConnectMachine Connectivity & Remote Access — Every New Machine Needs a Connection
New connected machines are invented every day — feeders, signage, traffic controllers, analysers, monitoring huts — and every one of them needs two things: a reliable link to the world, and a secure way for its maker or maintainer to reach it. That’s what TITAN IoT supplies: the router, the matched antenna, the SIM and the VPN, staged in Galway so your machine ships or gets serviced connected. Whatever the machine is.
What Is Remote Machine Access?
Remote machine access lets a manufacturer or service team reach equipment installed on a customer’s site — for diagnostics, configuration, updates and support — without driving there. A compact cellular router at the machine connects it over 4G or 5G, and a secure VPN maps each site onto a private address your existing software connects to, exactly as if you were standing in front of the machine. Because the router connects outward, it works on ordinary SIMs behind carrier-grade NAT, needs no changes to the customer’s network, and doesn’t expose the machine to the internet.
The same setup works whether you built the machine or you maintain it — and when the machine’s addresses are fixed by PLCs, the VPN maps around them rather than asking you to change them.
The Machines We’ve Connected Lately
Not factory PLCs in brochures — real equipment, invented and installed by Irish and international companies, connected and reachable today.
Automated Calf Feeders, Across EMEA
An Irish agri-equipment manufacturer ships app-monitored automatic calf feeders across Europe, the Middle East and Africa — farmers watch every calf’s feeding from their phone, which only works if the shed has a connection. Each feeder ships with a staged R1510 and matched antenna, on low-cost IoT SIMs we source and manage. The connectivity is the product feature; we’re the layer that delivers it, reliably, in farm sheds with no broadband.

Large-Format LED Displays & Scoreboards
Digital signage and scoreboard installations connected over 4G where no site network exists — routers and antennas matched to each screen so content updates and diagnostics reach every display, for a leading international signage manufacturer’s Irish installs.

City-Wide Signage: 3G to 5G
A city-wide public signage network running on obsolete 3G routers upgraded to 5G — R5010 routers with Panorama 4×4 MIMO antennas, future-proofing city infrastructure as the old networks switch off.
Smart Traffic Controllers
City-wide infrastructure again: junction and traffic controllers connected with compact Advantech SmartStart routers — PUCK-2 antennas on the cabinets, high-gain OMNI-600s where the junction is remote.

Emissions Monitoring, Unlocked
A service company maintaining continuous emissions monitoring systems is migrating off the manufacturer’s locked-in access router onto SmartNetVPN — keeping their existing SIMs, keeping the PLC-fixed addresses, and giving their whole team secure access from their own laptops.

Environmental Monitoring Stations
Remote environmental monitoring equipment reached over SmartNetVPN — the operator’s own software connects to each hut’s instruments on a private VPN address, no site visit needed.

Six different machines, one pattern. Yours is next — whatever it is.
Four Parts, Staged as One
The router: Robustel R1510 for most machines · R1520 where more I/O is needed · R5010 for 5G · Advantech SmartStart where compact Advantech fits the cabinet
The antenna: Poynting PUCK-2 on cabinets and machines · OMNI-600 high-gain for remote sites · Panorama 4×4 for 5G — matched per install, because the antenna decides the signal
The SIM: low-cost multi-network IoT SIMs we source and manage — or your existing SIMs kept in service
The access: SmartNetVPN mapping every site to a private address your software reaches · RCMS watching the fleet — free with every Robustel

Machine Connectivity Questions, Answered
What is remote machine access?
It’s reaching equipment installed on a customer’s site — for diagnostics, updates and support — without travelling there. A cellular router at the machine connects it over 4G or 5G, and a secure VPN maps each site to a private address your existing software connects to, as if you were on site.
Do we need to change our diagnostic software?
No. The VPN presents each machine on a reachable address; your Windows software connects to it exactly as it would locally. That’s the point of the approach — the connectivity adapts to your tools, not the other way round.
Our machines have fixed IP addresses set by PLCs — is that a problem?
No. Machines whose addresses can’t change are normal — the VPN’s NAT mapping points a private VPN address at each machine’s existing local address, so nothing on the machine is reconfigured.
Can we keep our existing SIM cards?
Usually, yes — the routers take standard SIMs, so existing SIM agreements can carry over. Where new SIMs make sense, we supply low-cost multi-network IoT SIMs and manage them for you.
Do we need static-IP SIMs?
No. The router connects outward to the VPN, which works on ordinary SIMs behind carrier-grade NAT — more secure than exposing machines on public addresses, and cheaper than static-IP SIM contracts.
We build machines — can you supply connectivity as part of our product?
Yes, that’s a pattern we run today: staged router-antenna-SIM kits configured per unit and shipped to your production line or direct to site, at volume, with the fleet visible in RCMS. Your machine ships connected and supportable from day one.
