Why Through TITAN

What you get when TITAN configures your monitoring.

Buying sensors is the easy part. Getting them onto your network, into your platform, and reporting useful data is the hard part. TITAN handles both, and supports them once they’re live.

  • Pre-Configured & Pre-JoinedEvery sensor leaves Galway pre-joined to your LoRaWAN network or cellular APN, with reporting schedules and alarms applied. Power on, data flows.
  • Network Planning IncludedFor LoRaWAN deployments, TITAN plans gateway placement and coverage before quoting. No “buy first, find out later”.
  • Platform SetupSensDesk, Rochester dashboard or ChirpStack — we set up the management platform alongside the hardware, with the alarms configured.
  • ATEX-Compliant Where NeededFuel terminals, chemical plants, LPG sites — we supply ATEX-certified hardware with the right zone classification for your application.
  • Irish & European SupportDirect phone and email to Galway. Ireland, UK and EU project support through the Vadnet distributor alliance.
  • 25 Years In The MarketTank monitoring, environmental and IoT sensor deployments across every Irish sector. Ask us about your application.
How It Works

From brief to live monitoring in four steps.

TITAN’s process for every Monitor It project. From one-tank pilot to a multi-site rollout.

01

We Listen

You tell us what you need to measure, where, how often and what alarms matter. We translate that into a sensor spec, network choice and reporting schedule.

02

We Design

Sensor selection (radar vs ultrasonic vs pressure), network design (LoRaWAN gateway placement or cellular SIM bundle), and platform configuration (Rochester dashboard, SensDesk or ChirpStack).

03

We Configure & Ship

Every sensor pre-joined to your network, reporting schedule applied, alarms configured. Labelled per-site, shipped ready to deploy. Ireland next working day, UK and EU via tracked courier.

04

We Support

Direct phone and email to the engineer who configured your sensors. Battery replacements, firmware updates, platform changes, new site rollouts.

Replacing manual tank checks with remote NB-IoT monitoring

A regional water authority was sending technicians on weekly drive-rounds to manually check water tower levels across 40+ rural sites. Costs were climbing and overnight overflows happened twice a year.

TEK 811 ultrasonic NB-IoT sensors deployed across all 40 sites, reporting twice-hourly. TITAN configured each sensor for the customer’s SCADA system before dispatch. Three days from order to live.

Drive-rounds eliminated. Overflow alerts arrive within minutes of threshold breach. Battery life projected at 8+ years per unit.

Rack-level environmental monitoring for a colocation facility

A Dublin colocation facility needed independent environmental monitoring across 200+ racks — temperature, humidity, water ingress and door access — separate from the building management system.

HW Group Perseus units deployed per rack row with temperature, humidity and door sensors. WLD2 water leak detectors under raised floor zones. Integrated to customer’s existing SNMP monitoring stack.

Per-rack visibility with SLA-grade alerting. Two water leaks caught in the first 12 months before they reached customer equipment.

Fuel Distributor · Nationwide · Rochester TEK 880

ATEX radar monitoring across customer fuel tank estate

A national fuel distributor wanted to offer end-customers a “we’ll deliver before you run out” service. Manual telephone re-orders were causing run-outs and emergency delivery surcharges.

TEK 880 ATEX radar sensors installed on customer tanks (commercial & agricultural). Data feeds into the distributor’s delivery scheduling platform via Rochester’s API. TITAN handled survey, ATEX certification check, installation guidance and remote commissioning.

Run-outs eliminated within six months. Routes optimised — fewer half-empty deliveries. Customer churn down on the metered accounts.

Frequently Asked

Monitor It — common questions.

NB-IoT, LoRaWAN or cellular — which network should I use for my sensors?

It depends on the deployment. NB-IoT and CAT-M1 are public cellular options — best for single sensors at scattered sites where you don’t own a network. LoRaWAN is private long-range — best for clusters of 20+ sensors at a site or campus where you can place a gateway. Standard cellular (4G) is best for high-data devices. TITAN advises on the right pick for each project — we don’t push you onto the network we happen to stock most of.

What’s the battery life like on these sensors?

Tank sensors on NB-IoT typically achieve 8–10 years on a single battery reporting twice daily. LoRaWAN tank sensors push longer, up to 12 years. Environmental sensors on Wi-Fi or Ethernet are mains-powered. HW Group NB-IoT sensors achieve around 3 years. Battery life depends heavily on reporting frequency — TITAN tunes the schedule to your alarming needs.

Do I need ATEX-certified sensors for my fuel tanks?

Yes if the tank is in a hazardous zone (fuel terminal, refinery, LPG depot, chemical plant) or contains flammable liquids/gases. Rochester’s TEK 880 (radar), TEK 822 (logger), TEK 898 (pressure) and TEK 790 (LPG dial gauge) are ATEX Exi intrinsically safe. TITAN supplies certification documentation with every ATEX unit.

What management platform do I get?

Three options depending on the hardware: Rochester’s dashboard for the TEK range (full API for custom integration). SensDesk for HW Group environmental sensors (free tier plus paid SaaS). ChirpStack or The Things Network for LoRaWAN deployments (open-source, self-hosted or cloud). TITAN configures whichever platform fits your environment.

Can sensors integrate with my SCADA / BMS / ERP system?

Yes — all the platforms TITAN deploys provide REST API or MQTT output for integration with SCADA, building management systems, ERP and bespoke dashboards. We’ve integrated sensors into customer SCADA, IBM Maximo, SAP and bespoke .NET applications. Tell us your stack and we’ll spec accordingly.

What’s the delivery lead time?

Stocked sensors pre-configured in Galway: next working day across Ireland, two to three days for UK and EU. ATEX-certified items and larger batch orders may need one to two weeks depending on certification paperwork and configuration. Project quotes always include a specific lead-time commitment.
