SmartNetVPN

Secure encrypted access to remote equipment without static IPs or DynDNS. AES-256, two-factor authentication and automatic configuration — supplied and set up by TITAN IoT, the Irish distributor.

SmartNetVPN is a VPN platform built for industrial and IoT networks — it gives you secure, encrypted access to remote equipment without static IP addresses, DynDNS subscriptions or complex firewall work. TITAN IoT is the listed SmartNetVPN distributor for Ireland.

The problem it solves is a familiar one. You have routers, PLCs, cameras or sensors deployed across sites, and you need to reach them — to check a fault, pull data, push an update. The usual answers are expensive (a static IP per SIM from the operator), fragile (DynDNS and port forwarding) or insecure (exposing a device to the open internet). SmartNetVPN replaces all three with one private network that you control.

What it actually does

Each device joins an encrypted private network and gets its own fixed internal IP address. You reach it by that address from anywhere — no NAT traversal, no port forwarding, no public exposure. Configuration files for routers and end devices are generated automatically, so deployment doesn’t mean hand-configuring tunnels on every unit.

Because the network is yours rather than the operator’s, you can change SIM provider without rebuilding anything, and it works over any connection the site happens to have — fibre, DSL, 4G, 5G or satellite.

Where it’s used in Ireland

  • Industrial remote access — reaching PLCs, SCADA and control systems for diagnostics and maintenance without a site visit
  • CCTV and security systems — centralising cameras across sites through encrypted tunnels rather than exposing recorders to the internet
  • Renewable energy — inverter telemetry and monitoring on solar and wind sites in poor-coverage locations
  • Branch and multi-site offices — LAN-to-LAN interconnection with centralised administration
  • Remote infrastructure — pump houses, telemetry stations and technical sites needing 24/7 availability
  • Machine builders and OEMs — supporting equipment installed on customer premises without asking for access to the customer’s network

Key capabilities

  • AES-256 encryption with X.509 certificate authentication
  • Two-factor authentication on the management portal
  • Automatic configuration generation for routers and end devices — zero-touch deployment
  • Fixed internal IP per device, so no NAT and no address hunting
  • Flexible topologies — mesh, point-to-point or star
  • User roles and instant revocation of credentials and active sessions
  • Groups — segment the network by customer, site or project
  • Connection logs — source IP, session times and data volume per node
  • Automatic configuration backup for fast recovery
  • Automatic reconnection after a network failure
  • Multiplatform — Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android clients alongside network hardware

What it saves you

  • No static IP addresses — removing a recurring per-SIM charge from your operator bill
  • No DynDNS or No-IP subscriptions — the platform handles resolution
  • No operator lock-in — change SIM or network without reconfiguring the VPN
  • No port forwarding — and none of the exposure that comes with it

Vendor independent — including the routers we supply

SmartNetVPN is not tied to one hardware brand. It supports Robustel and Teltonika routers — the two ranges we stock most — alongside Advantech, Red Lion, Hirschmann, Cybertec and Celerway equipment, plus PCs, servers and mobile devices. Mixed estates work: a site running Robustel and a site running Teltonika sit on the same private network.

Cloud or on-premise

The server can run in the cloud — including on AWS, Google Cloud or Azure — or on your own infrastructure, virtualised under VMware, Hyper-V or Docker. For organisations whose policy keeps network control in-house, that on-premise option is often the deciding factor.

How you buy it

SmartNetVPN is licensed, not a one-off purchase, and the right size depends on how many devices you’re connecting and where the server lives. As the Irish distributor, TITAN specifies the licence, sets up the server, and configures the routers and clients before anything ships — so the network comes up as a working system rather than a login and a manual.

Use REQUEST A QUOTE and tell us roughly how many devices you need to connect and whether you want cloud or on-premise hosting, and we’ll come back with Irish pricing.

Supplied and configured from Galway

Most customers take SmartNetVPN with the routers it will run on. We configure both together — VPN profiles generated, routers enrolled, failover and access rules applied — so equipment arrives already on your private network.

It pairs with the industrial cellular routers and LoRaWAN gateways we supply, and with our multi-network IoT SIMs.
