The Complete Stack

What “Connect” actually means.

Reliable industrial connectivity is more than a router in a box. TITAN’s Connect stack is five components working together — each one selected, configured and supported as part of the same system.

1

Industrial cellular hardware

4G/5G routers and edge gateways from Robustel, Digi, Teltonika and Siretta. Built for temperature extremes, vibration, wide-voltage inputs and DIN-rail, wall or vehicle mounting. Selected to fit the deployment, not the price list.

2

Signal-matched antennas & RF

Poynting and Panorama antennas chosen against the site’s signal environment, carrier bands and mounting constraints. Outdoor, vehicle, marine, MIMO, IP69K — the right antenna paired with the right router and cable lengths.

3

Connectivity & data plans

Multi-network IoT SIMs across Vodafone, Three, Eir and roaming European networks — from €2/month. TITAN Smart VPN for secure inbound access on any SIM or broadband connection.

4

Pre-configuration & cloud management

On request, TITAN can apply your VPN profiles, APN settings, firewall rules and cloud enrolment before dispatch. Robustel RCMS gives you fleet-wide visibility, OTA updates and remote diagnostics — at no extra cost on every Robustel device.

5

Lifecycle support

Direct phone and email to TITAN’s Galway engineering team. Firmware questions, antenna tuning, SIM replacements, fleet expansion. Not a ticket queue.

Why Through TITAN

Services and capabilities available from TITAN.

Going direct to a manufacturer means dealing with hardware boxes. Going through TITAN means having a local engineering team and a layered set of services available — pre-configuration, antenna matching, VPN setup and cloud enrolment — that customers can take if the project needs them, or skip if they self-configure.

How It Works

From brief to deployment in four steps.

TITAN’s process for every Connect project — whether you’re taking a single hardware unit or a full project delivery including pre-configuration and platform setup.

01

We Listen

You tell us the site, the application, the carrier bands, the regulatory environment. We translate that into a hardware spec — router, antenna, SIM, mounting, certifications.

02

We Design

Signal survey if needed. Antenna matched to install environment and carrier bands. SIM bundle sized to your data profile. VPN and cloud enrolment architected to your security policy.

03

We Configure or Ship

Where pre-configuration is part of the scope, TITAN sets up VPN, APN, firewall rules and RCMS enrolment in Galway, tests on the bench and labels per-site. Otherwise units ship in factory configuration with setup documentation. Ireland next working day, UK and EU via tracked courier.

04

We Support

Direct phone and email to TITAN’s Galway engineering team. Firmware updates, antenna tuning, fleet expansion — we stay involved for the lifecycle of every project.

Frequently Asked

Connect — common questions.

What is industrial IoT connectivity?

Industrial IoT connectivity is the layer that gets data from remote or hard-to-reach equipment back to a central system — using cellular (4G/5G), VPN, IoT SIMs and industrial routers built for harsh environments. Unlike consumer broadband, it’s designed for reliability, remote management and 24/7 operation across sites like utilities, transport, agriculture and manufacturing. TITAN supplies the routers, antennas, SIMs and VPN that make up this layer for projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Do I have to buy through TITAN or can I order direct from Robustel/Poynting?

Both are possible, but you’ll get different things. Direct from the manufacturer you get hardware shipped from China or South Africa, in default configuration, with no antenna matching or SIM bundle, and warranty support through the OEM. Through TITAN you get the option of pre-configured units, signal-matched antennas, Irish-bundled SIMs, Irish-based support, and volume pricing through Vadnet.

What’s included with the pre-configuration service?

When pre-configuration is part of the project scope, TITAN typically applies VPN profiles, APN settings for your chosen SIM, firewall rules, password changes from manufacturer defaults, and RCMS cloud enrolment so the device is visible to your fleet dashboard the moment it powers on. We can also apply firmware updates, custom routing rules, port forwarding and Robustel App Center applications on request. Customers can take this as a service on POC or full project orders, or self-configure if they prefer.

How does TITAN match antennas to sites?

Where antenna matching is part of the project scope, we ask about the carrier bands you need, the mounting environment (indoor, outdoor, vehicle, marine), the cellular signal strength at the site, and the distance between router and antenna. From that we recommend a specific Poynting or Panorama model and supply the right RF cables to suit the installation. If a site is RF-difficult, we can run a cellular survey first using Siretta tools.

What does RCMS actually do?

RCMS is Robustel’s cloud platform for managing fleets of Robustel devices. It gives you live signal strength, network type and data usage per device, over-the-air firmware and config updates, inbound VPN access (RobustVPN), a fleet map view, SMS remote control and alert notifications. The standard tier is free on every Robustel device, so there’s no per-device licence fee to manage your fleet.

How much do IoT SIMs cost in Ireland?

IoT SIMs from TITAN start at €2 per month with multi-network roaming across Vodafone, Three and Eir in Ireland, plus major European carriers for cross-border deployments. Plans cover NB-IoT and LTE-M for low-power sensors, through 4G LTE and 5G for high-throughput applications. Single SIMs available with no minimum order through to large IoT estates with bespoke pricing.

What’s the difference between NB-IoT, LTE-M and 4G LTE?

They’re built for different jobs. NB-IoT is low-bandwidth, low-power and deep-coverage — best for sensors that send small readings infrequently and need years of battery life, like tank levels or meters. LTE-M (CAT-M1) adds mobility and a bit more bandwidth — good for asset trackers and devices that move. 4G LTE (CAT-4 and up) is full-bandwidth for routers, cameras, signage and anything moving real data. TITAN can advise on which fits your application and supply SIMs and hardware for all three.

What happens if the cellular signal drops?

Industrial routers handle this differently to consumer kit. Dual-SIM models automatically fail over to a second network if the primary loses signal — so a site on Vodafone can drop to Three without intervention. Multi-network IoT SIMs roam across all available carriers at a location rather than locking to one. And RCMS alerts you if a device goes offline. For sites where connectivity is critical, TITAN specs dual-SIM hardware and multi-network SIMs as standard practice.

Do I need a static IP to access my router remotely?

Not necessarily. A static IP is one way, but most mobile networks use private or dynamic IPs that block inbound access by default. TITAN Smart VPN solves this without a static IP — the router dials out to the VPN, giving you secure inbound access to the device and anything behind it, on any SIM or broadband connection. Robustel’s RCMS also provides remote access via RobustVPN at no extra cost. For most deployments a VPN is cheaper and more secure than paying carriers for static IPs.

What about 5G — is it ready for industrial use?

Yes, for the right applications. The Robustel R5010 and R5020 are 5G Release 16 routers suitable for high-throughput multi-site networks, vehicle connectivity and digital signage where 4G bandwidth would be a constraint. For most industrial IoT applications — SCADA, telemetry, asset tracking — 4G CAT-4 or NB-IoT is still the right answer and will be for years. We’ll advise on what’s appropriate for your specific deployment.

What’s the delivery lead time?

For stocked items: next working day across Ireland, two to three days for the UK and EU. For volume or project orders requiring batch configuration, lead times are quoted per project — typically one to two weeks for a hundred-unit batch. For special-order items or out-of-stock SKUs, lead times depend on the manufacturer’s production schedule and we’ll quote those specifically.
